I can hear the global warming tards already. The claims that this never happens and its man made global warming that caused this. For the record, in 1962 when this last happened the environmentalists were pushing a “Global Cooling” scare tactic to frighten people into submission to their ridiculous group think.

I don’t think I have ever heard anyone mention that water expands when frozen. Understanding that there are changes to the climate from summer to winter, yes even in Greenland, where the ice begins to melt and then refreezes, then perhaps it might be a bit easier to understand this phenomenon.

Don’t believe me? Put a can of soda in the freezer and see what happens. The soda will freeze and expand to the point that the can ruptures and leaks soda all over the freezer.

Its a simple experiment but it might make it easier to understand why massive chunks of ice break away from themselves. This is also an easy way to shut your global warming pals up. Just throw a can of soda in their freezer. JP
