Los Angeles City election Poll Worker Shot At 92nd Street Elementary School

Los Angeles City election Poll Worker Shot At 92nd Elementary School

Los Angeles CA- A poll worker was shot during the Los Angeles mayoral election in south central Los Angeles. The shooting took place at the 92nd Street Elementary School.

Two poll workers apparently got into an argument when they both produced guns and began shooting it out. Both were shot and taken to the hospital where injuries were said to be minor.

School was in session at the time of the shooting. The school was evacuated and no children were injured.

You have to love South Central Los Angeles. Why are poll workers taking guns with them to polling places. Is it really so dangerous on South Central LA that poll workers have to carry guns?

In Chicago dead people vote all the time. Perhaps its how the people of South Central Los Angeles make sure they get the candidate of their choice into office. “Vote for more welfare or we will shoot you.” JD

15-year-old girl killed playing Russian roulette

LOS ANGELES – An autopsy was pending today on a 15-year-old girl fatally shot in what police believe may have been a game of Russian roulette.

The shooting in a Mid-City home in the 1800 block of Wellington Road was reported about 5:45 p.m. Sunday, Los Angeles police Sgt. Charles Halliburton of the Wilshire Station said.

A male was taken into custody, but his name and age were not made public, Halliburton said.

According to The Los Angeles Times, paramedics found the girl with a bullet wound to her back and took her to a hospital, where she was declared dead. Police withheld her name.

Sources told the newspaper she and a teenage boy may have been playing Russian roulette with a pistol and when she got up to leave, the boy pointed the gun at her and pulled the trigger, unaware there was still a round in the chamber, the newspaper reported.

Teacher shot to death in Millcreek parking lot

Mary Nance Hanson, 70, fired several shots in Utah teacher shooting

MILLCREEK — An assistant preschool teacher was shot and killed Friday as she was leaving the school to go home.

Tetyana Nikitina, 34, died when Mary Nance Hanson, 70, fired several shots at her as Nikitina drove away, said Unified Police Lt. Don Hutson. Hanson then reloaded and allegedly fired several more rounds.

The shooting occurred about 3:30 p.m. in the parking lot of the Hal J. Schultz facility of the Salt Lake CAP Head Start school at 336 E. 3900 South.

Police would not comment Friday on how Hanson and Nikitina may have known each other, but the Deseret News has learned through other sources that the women may be related or were related.

Nikitina had just left the school for the day and got into her car when Hanson approached her and opened fire, Hutson said.

Hanson, armed with a .38-caliber revolver, unloaded her gun into the car as Nikitina sat in the driver’s seat and began to pull away. Hanson then reloaded and continued firing through the car at close range, he said.

The revolver typically holds five rounds. Police would not say how many shots they believe were fired.

Hanson then put down her gun and called 911. When officers arrived, she was waiting for them.
