Man arrested in Baltimore St. Patrick’s Day beating

WASHINGTON – A man has turned himself in after he was linked to the beating of a man in downtown Baltimore on St. Patrick’s Day — an attack that was caught on video and went viral.

Aaron Parsons, 20, of Rosedale, was arrested Friday night, police said. His attorney tells the Baltimore Sun that he turned himself in. Social media posts over the past week have linked him to the attack.

Investigators looked to the local community and nationwide for information leading to this arrest.

“It was the help of community intelligence from people as far away as California calling Baltimore police, helping is us out and identifying potential suspects in this vicious attack,” says spokesman Anthony Gugliemlmi.

In the video, a crowd laughs as the victim is punched in the face. The crowd then strips him naked and takes his belongings, including his car keys, watch and phone.

Parsons is charged with assault, robbery and other crimes.

There are some disturbing images in the video.

Man killed by fake census worker

HOUSTON—A man was killed and his family members beaten after three suspects barged into a north Houston home Saturday afternoon, police said.

Investigators said one of the suspects pretended to be a census worker to gain entry into the house, located in the 400 block of Truman.

Family members said the victim’s son opened the door for the suspects, believing they were with the census.

Larry Johnson Jr., the nephew of the victim, said the suspects tied up and beat his cousin and aunt after barging into to the home.

Johnson said his uncle, Reginald “Pete” Haynes, walked in on the crime and was ambushed.

“They tied him up and stabbed him and tried to submerge him in water,” Johnson said.

Haynes later died at the hospital.

Family members said the men ransacked the house for two hours.

“They were looking for money and my aunt gave them everything that they had and it wasn’t enough for them,” Johnson said.

Neighbor Randell Harmon said he even watched the suspects leave after the crime and had no idea what had happened.

“I saw three gentlemen walk out and I didn’t think anything of it,” Harmon said. “They didn’t look at me. They got in the truck and they left.”

The incident left people in the community fearful about who might come knocking at their door.

“They’ve taken something precious from us,” Johnson said. “They really have.”

Neighbors said census-takers started working their street weeks ago.

According to HPD, the suspect who claimed to be a census worker showed no ID badge. Investigators said they don’t have a good description of any of the suspects.

“Caveman” Bandit Robs Fontana Bank, assaults Employee

caveman bandit fontanaFONTANA– The FBI is searching for a bandit who threatened and assaulted a bank employee before making off with cash.

At around 11:45 a.m. Friday, the suspect walked into the Bank of America branch located at 10048 S. Sierra Avenue in Fontana, California.

The unidentified male passed a note under the bandit barrier to a teller saying, “This is a robbery, I have a gun. If you don’t want no one to get hurt, give me the money,” according to Laura Eimiller of the Federal Bureau of Investigation Los Angeles Field Office.

According to reports, when the teller did not immediately comply, the bandit stated, “I’m not kidding,” and grabbed an employee standing at the next window.

The suspect then grabbed the employee by her neck and pulled her hair, according to Eimiller.

After receiving the cash, the man exited the bank. There was no vehicle observed.

The bank robber has been dubbed the “Caveman Bandit” based on his boorish behavior, Eimiller said.

He is described as a white male, around 25-30 years of age. The suspect stands 5 feet, 5 inches tall, weighs 140 pounds, and has brown eyes and dark hair.

The FBI is offering a reward in exchange for information leading to the arrest of the Caveman Bandit. Anyone with information on the case is urged to contact the FBI at (888) CANT HIDE.
