Mexican Drug Cartels Tunnel Into Arizona Parking Spaces

Drug smugglers are endlessly creative when it comes to inventing ways to move marijuana, cocaine and other contraband from Mexico into the United States.

In the latest innovation uncovered by law enforcement, smugglers in the border town of Nogales, Arizona were bringing drugs into the U.S. for the cost of a quarter.

The parking meters on International Street, which hugs the border fence in Nogales, cost 25 cents. Smugglers in Mexico tunneled under the fence and under the metered parking spaces, and then carefully cut neat rectangles out of the pavement.

Their confederates on the U.S. side would park false-bottomed vehicles in the spaces above the holes, feed the meters, and then wait while the underground smugglers stuffed their cars full of drugs from below.

When the exchange was finished, the smugglers would use jacks to put the pavement “plugs” back into place. The car would drive away, and only those observers who were looking closely would notice the seams in the street.

In all, U.S. Border Patrol agents found 16 tunnels leading to the 18 metered parking spaces on International Street. The pavement is now riddled with neat, symmetrical patches.

“It’s unbelievable,” Nogales mayor Arturo Garino told Tucson, Arizona ABC affiliate KGUN. “Those are the strides these people take to get the drugs across the border.”

Past methods of smuggling have included catapults that launch bales of drugs across the border fence. “The [smugglers] have tried everything,” said Garino, “and this is one of the most ingenious [methods] of them all.

The city, advised by Homeland Security, has agreed to remove the parking meters. Nogales stands to lose $8,500 annually in parking revenue, plus the cost of citations.

Fruita CO. gets a taste of Los Angeles Crime committed by illegal immigrants

Hello Fruita! Welcome to 2011 Los Angeles crime and what we deal with out here on a daily basis.

Illegal aliens commit an enormous amount of crime in Los Angeles, and make up more than 40 percent of our prison population in the state of California.

As amazing as it may seem, I can remember the governor of Colorado condemning Californians for supporting propositions 187, 209 and 227, all of which tried to deal with the overwhelming costs incurred to support, educate, house and incarcerate illegal aliens.

Its seems now as if the chicken has come home to roost. Before long, your kids won’t be able to find a job anywhere because all the stores, all the fast food joints, all the entry level jobs in Fruita and Grand Junction will be filled by illegal immigrants.

Bars will go up on windows and doors, graffiti will be on virtually every vertical surface and crime will be rampant.

You will also get the pleasure of getting in car accidents with people that have no license and no insurance that will flee the scene of the crime on foot, leaving you to pay for your own medical expenses and car repair.

If illegal immigrants do get caught by law enforcement, they bail out of jail and beat feet back to Mexico.

This goes on all day out here in Los Angeles and for that matter the whole south western part of the United States.

Oh and don’t forget this Grand Junction and Fruita. Don’t dare to say anything negative about illegal immigration or illegal aliens. If you do, prepare to have “immigrants rights groups” descend upon Grand Junction like locusts to protest and defend the actions of these common criminals and call everyone racists.

Again, this goes on all day long in California. And so it goes . . . Bob

Cops call off search for suspect in vehicle thefts

Authorities this afternoon called off the search for a fugitive believed to have stolen two vehicles in Fruita and held up one of the occupants at gunpoint.

Meanwhile, the other man, 32-year-old German Martinez-Riveria of Los Angeles, made his first appearance in court this afternoon.

Martinez-Riveria, a suspected illegal immigrant, was advised by County Judge Gretchen Larson that he could be charged with two felony counts of conspiracy to commit aggravated motor vehicle theft and one felony count of conspiracy to commit kidnapping. He was booked into the Mesa County Jail around 7 p.m. Monday.

Authorities aren’t releasing his mug shot.

Sheriff’s spokeswoman Heather Benjamin said this morning that residents in the Mack area are allowed to come and go freely. Deputies were escorting people to and from their homes for a short time Monday night while they searched for Martinez-Riveria and another unknown Hispanic man.

Martinez-Riveria and the unknown man are suspected of stealing a black pickup truck from the Fruita Community Center, 324 N. Coulson St. and a white Dodge Nitro sport-utility vehicle from the Go-Fer Foods, 106 S. Park Square, Monday afternoon. A person who was in the passenger seat of the Nitro was robbed at gunpoint, sheriff’s officials said.

Fruita police later recovered the black truck near Interstate 70 and Colorado Highway 139, then later joined with the Colorado State Patrol and the Sheriff’s Department in pursuing the Dodge Nitro. The suspects eventually abandoned the Nitro at the intersection of R and 10 roads. Members of the sheriff’s Special Weapons and Tactics team were able to locate and arrest Martinez-Riveria.

SWAT team officers, deputies and State Patrol troopers returned to the Mack area this morning to continue searching buildings, homes and fields for the second suspect. The State Patrol launched a fixed-wing aircraft to assist in the search.

The second suspect is described as an adult Hispanic male in his 20s, wearing dark clothing that is likely muddy and wet.

Authorities encourage people to call 911 to report any suspicious activity in the Loma area and recommend that no one pick up any hitchhikers.

17 killed at birthday party in Mexico

Watch closely America, because this is our future.

MEXICO CITY — Gunmen burst into a birthday party where celebrators were dancing to live music and opened fire early Sunday, killing at least 17 people in an attack that was violent even by the bloody standards of Mexico’s drug war.

The government said the attack, at a party gathering in the northern city of Torreón, appeared to be the work of a drug gang, but officials said they had not determined the possible motive for the killings as of late Sunday.

Among the dead was the birthday honoree, a man whose name was given only as Mota, according to authorities quoted by local media. Mota is the Mexican slang word for marijuana.

The gunmen, who struck around 1:30 a.m., were traveling in a convoy of eight cars, witnesses told local media. Without warning they entered the party and began firing indiscriminately before escaping.

“They shot anything that moved,” according to a local police source quoted in the newspaper El Norte.

Among the dead were five women. Although the vast majority of the nearly 25,000 people killed since President Felipe Calderón began his attack on drug gangs in December 2006 have been men, women have increasingly become targets.

The police said that 18 people were wounded in the birthday party attack.

Torreón, in the state of Coahuila, which borders Texas, has become a battleground in the drug war as a transit point to the United States.

At the end of January, gunmen killed 10 young people in an attack in a bar there. In May, eight more young people were killed in an attack in another Torreón bar. Several of those who were killed were students and did not appear to have any links to drugs.

In May 2009, a journalist from Torreón was abducted and killed by kidnappers that investigators suspect were members of the Zetas drug gang.

The birthday party killings in Torreón came three days after a car bomb in the border city of Ciudad Juárez killed four people, including two federal policemen. It was the first time that a car bomb had been used in an attack in the drug violence, leading to fears that Mexico may be facing a new kind of terrorism.

Attorney General Arturo Chávez Chávez, speaking to reporters on Friday, said that the car bomb was in retaliation for the arrest of a top gang leader on Thursday.

As for the increasing levels of violence, he attributed it to feuding among drug gangs. “When the organizations are split, the strongest keeps what it already has and the splinter group goes in search of new latitudes, and that means they invade spaces that already belonged to somebody,” Mr. Chávez said. “That provokes conflicts and wars, which is what we’re living.”

Mexico Opens consular office on Catalina Island

Catalina Island used to be a beautiful place to go explore an island and camp out. Now it is a virtual ghetto complete with graffiti, gangs and all the other crime that comes with illegal immigration.

Last week I was reading about the ten most polluted beaches in California and Avalon Bay in Catalina Island was number one on the list.

Mexico has now opened their consular office on Catalina Island to give their citizens identification cards and make it easier for their people to screw the taxpayer. The latest update is that the Mexican government has moved this office into a Catholic church because of the outrage this has caused.

The Mexican government is opening a satellite consular office on Catalina Island — a small resort off the California coast with a history of drug smuggling and human trafficking — to provide the island’s illegal Mexican immigrants with identification cards, The Washington Examiner has learned.

The Mexican consular office in Los Angeles issued a flier, a copy of which was obtained by The Examiner, listing the Catalina Island Country Club as the location of its satellite office. It invites Mexicans to visit the office to obtain the identification, called matricular cards, by appointment.

Rep. Dana Rohrabacher, a Republican whose district includes Catalina Island, said handing out matricular cards will exacerbate an already dangerous situation.

“Handing out matricular cards to Mexicans who are not in this country legally is wrong no matter where it’s done,” he said. “But on Catalina it will do more damage. It’s a small island but there’s evidence it’s being used as a portal for illegals to access mainland California.”

Rohrabacher added, “If there were a large number of Americans illegally in Mexico and the U.S. consulate was making it easier for them to stay, Mexico would never permit it.”

Mexican officials with the consular office in Los Angeles could not be reached immediately for comment. The matricular consular identification card, is issued by the Mexican government to Mexican nationals residing outside the country, regardless of immigration status. The purpose is to provide identification for opening bank accounts and obtaining other services. But the cards are usually used to skirt U.S. immigration laws, since Mexicans in the country legally have documents proving that status, Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials said.

In 2004 testimony to the Senate Judiciary Committee, FBI officials called the card an unreliable form of identification. The agency said that Mexico lacks a centralized database for them, which could lead to forgery, duplication, and other forms of abuse.

Officers with the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement said their agency was asked by Mexican officials not to enforce U.S. immigration laws on the island while the cards were being issued.

“It amazes me every time that the Mexican government has the gall to tell us what to do,” said an ICE official, who asked not to be named. “More surprisingly is how many times we stand by and let them. This is just an example of one of hundreds of requests we’ve had to deal with.”

In April, Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies seized a boat carrying large quantities of marijuana and detained three Mexican nationals who said they were being smuggled into the United States.

The island has a sizable Mexican migrant population. Most are undocumented low-income workers.

Mexico warns citizens may be “harassed” in Arizona

illegal aliens mexicans flipping bird giving the finger

Are you kidding me? How about this headline from Mexico.

“Mexican government warns Americans may be kidnapped, shot, beheaded and killed in Mexico.”

Because that’s exactly what is going on in Mexico right now. The corrupt Mexican government cannot protect its own citizens, and they are telling the illegal aliens in here in America to be careful lest the be “harassed” in Arizona?

Notice that Reuters didn’t make any mention of the turmoil going on in Mexico with their drug wars that to date, have killed more than 2000 people since JANUARY 1, 2010.

If Obama had a set of balls, he would tell the Mexican government to worry more about what is going on in their own backyard and less about what’s going on in America. JD

Reuters- Arizona’s Republican Governor Jan Brewer signed a bill into law last week that makes it a crime to be in the state illegally and requires police to check the status of people they reasonably suspect to be illegal immigrants.

The law, decried by critics as discriminatory, will force immigrants to carry their alien registration documents at all times once it takes effect 90 days after Arizona’s current legislative session ends.

Mexico’s foreign ministry issued a statement saying that Mexicans in Arizona should be aware of the new law and contact their consular representatives if they are unlawfully detained.

“Until it is clearly defined under what criteria, when, where and who the authorities will check, you should assume that every Mexican citizen could be harassed and questioned without cause at any moment,” it said.

The new law prohibits people from being hired from a vehicle on a public street, the statement noted. Undocumented workers in the United States often gather to wait for employers to drive by and pick them up for day jobs as construction workers, farm workers or landscapers.

An estimated 460,000 illegal immigrants live in the desert state, which also straddles the main point of entry for illegal immigrants crossing into the United States from Mexico.

President Barack Obama denounced the Arizona law as misguided and has ordered monitoring of its implementation. White House press secretary Robert Gibbs has warned that other states could also bring in tough immigration laws if there is no national comprehensive immigration reform.

Mexican President Felipe Calderon has said the law criminalizes immigration and opens the door to “intolerance, hate, and discrimination.

To protest against the law, the governor of the Mexican border state of Sonora canceled a June meeting with Arizona officials that would have been the latest in decades of annual cooperation meetings between the two states.

The legislation sparked street protests and has forced hard choices on immigrants, some of whom have lived in Arizona for years.
