A Chino Hills woman killed this morning in a car crash was struck by a tow truck whose driver was repossessing her vehicle.
The driver, Leo Song, 42, of Chino Hills, told the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department he backed up his tow truck to a 2002 Buick belonging to 42-year-old Lisa Via at 15050 Monte Vista Ave. at 1:10 a.m.
Via came out of her mobile home and asked Song not to take her car. He told her he had to take it.
He began to drag the car out of the driveway. Song told authorities he lost sight of Via and assumed she had moved away from the tow truck and her car.
But when he stopped in front of Via’s mobile home, the woman’s husband approached Song and said his wife was trapped under the car.
Song used a floor jack to lift the car off Via. Paramedics took Via to Chino Valley Medical Center where she died at 3:30 a.m.
