Obama Cries for Newtown Children, Doesn’t Mention Chicago

Obama Cries for Newtown Children, Doesn’t Mention Chicago

While President Obama and Vice President Biden try to figure out how to prevent massacres like the one in Newtown Connecticut that claimed the lives of 26 children and adults, the slaughter that has been taking place in Chicago over the duration of Obama’s first term goes largely unnoticed and unmentioned by the White House.

In 2012, a total of 516 people were murdered in Chicago, most of which occurred in the city’s notoriously dangerous West and South Sides. Last year’s deadliest month was August, in which 57 people were murdered in the Windy City, many at the end of a gun barrel.

obama_cry_babyIn Afghanistan last year, 340 Americans were killed in combat and non-combat related incidents. When compared to the murder rate in Chicago, Afghanistan seems like a walk in the park.

But after four years of widely ignoring the massacre in Chicago, the American media have finally began to acknowledge what the rest of America has known for the duration of Obama’s first term. Chicago is a huge embarrassment for Obama.

Why is it an embarrassment to President Obama? Because the “gun control” he and Vice President Joe Biden are clamoring for nationally is already in place in Chicago.

Its hard to justify regulating the gun industry when your home town is already heavily regulated and also the murder capital of the country. It completely contradicts the purpose stated by the administration.

Gun control policies don’t work because they disarm citizens while keeping criminals in possession of guns. Chicago’s strict policies have effectively given lawbreakers a monopoly on weapons in many parts of the city that the Chicago Police Department cannot or will not police effectively.

Even NPR or National Public Radio acknowledges this. On Monday, Morning Edition explored crime rates in Chicago and how the murder rate went up in 2012. That was against national trends and even against Chicago’s long-range decline in crime. We discussed police focus on “hot spots,” and the dissolution of gangs. But listeners asked: What about gun bans?

Yet the media keeps sweeping it under the rug and putting their heads in the sand as to not anger the Messiah, er . . Obama.

You have a sitting president looking to confiscate firearms from law abiding citizens when his home town is under siege from criminals, who are the only people what guns because “gun control” has taken the guns away from law abiding citizens.

Embarrassing indeed. JD

NRA says Biden task force leading a ‘blatant attack’ on 2nd Amendment

NRA says Biden task force leading a ‘blatant attack’ on 2nd Amendment

obama_stooges2
Obama and his stooges are drinking their liberal Kool-Aide and taking away what is left of our freedom.

After reading the text of the comments from the Obama administration on gun control, it should be plain and obvious to even the dumbest Obamatrons that their intentions are not to make life better for all Americans. Obama and his henchmen are stripping away the very foundation of the constitution itself.

Let me say it again for those of you in the north eastern part of the country that are too stupid to understand how to tie your shoes, let alone grasp the concept of the message I am trying to convey here on my site.

Without the second Amendment to the constitution, there is no need for the first amendment.

People argue all the time about the language contained in both the first and second amendment, but there is a reason for them being in the order that they are in and why they are numbers one and two in the first place.

The founding fathers all came from countries that were ran by the modern day equivalent of despots that were taxing them out of existence.

Furthermore, if one were to actually have an opinion about it that contradicted the King or queen, one could lose his or her head.

So when they wrote the amendments to the constitution, they first added language about freedom of speech, then about the right to keep and bear arms to protect the first.

Liberal scholars and democrats keep pointing to “Well armed militia” in the second amendment and calling it “antiquated” in an attempt to discount its meaning.

There is a profound reason for us having a second amendment and its for what has been going on in Washington for the last 100 years. To keep our leaders from doing what they are doing right now. Stripping away our freedoms and replacing them with tyrannical laws rules and programs that make America no different from all the shitbox nations on earth.

If anyone were to read what the founding fathers of America thought about these two incredibly important amendments, they would see that they were not written to protect the country, they were written to protect the people from the same kind of tyrannical government that these people left behind in their countries of origin.

SO lets watch as Joe Biden, who many call the dumbest man in Washington and Obama disregard mental health and instead use the kids of Sandy Hook Elementary school as pawns in a sick game of chess where are freedom is the loser. JD

The National Rifle Association emerged from a meeting Thursday with Vice President Biden and accused his gun violence task force of leading an “attack” on the Second Amendment — just hours after

Biden gave a glimpse into the gun-control recommendations expected to hit the president’s desk in a matter of days.

The vice president said earlier that “an emerging set of recommendations” focuses on launching “universal” background checks, restricting high-capacity magazines and allowing federal agencies to do more research on gun violence.

He revealed where the task force was headed a day after drawing outrage from Republican lawmakers by saying the administration might use “executive orders” to implement some policies. He said he plans to have the recommendations, which are not yet final, to President Obama by Tuesday.

But the NRA, after sitting down with Biden and other firearms groups Thursday afternoon, blasted the effort as primarily focused on restricting gun rights.

“We were disappointed with how little this meeting had to do with keeping our children safe and how much it had to do with an agenda to attack the Second Amendment,” the group said in a written statement. “While claiming that no policy proposals would be ‘prejudged,’ this Task Force spent most of its time on proposed restrictions on lawful firearms owners — honest, taxpaying, hardworking Americans.

“It is unfortunate that this administration continues to insist on pushing failed solutions to our nation’s most pressing problems. We will not allow law-abiding gun owners to be blamed for the acts of criminals and madmen.”

Aside from the NRA, Biden also met Thursday with sports groups like the Outdoor Industry Association and firearms groups like the

National Association of Arms Shows. Attorney General Eric Holder and other Obama Cabinet secretaries were meeting as well with Walmart and several other sports retailers.

Biden said the list of possible recommendations so far includes a call for “universal background checks.” He said this would include not just closing the so-called gun show loophole but imposing background checks for all transactions, including private sales.

He also said, “I’ve never heard quite as much about the need to do something about high-capacity magazines as I’ve heard spontaneously from every group that we’ve met with so far.”

Biden planned to round out the day with a meeting Thursday evening with entertainment industry representatives. On Friday, he plans to meet representatives from the video game industry.
Still, much of the discussion, and proposals from Democratic members of Congress, continue to center around gun control.

Biden drew complaints from Republican lawmakers when he suggested Wednesday, while meeting with gun control groups, that the administration might go around Congress to implement some provisions.
“There are executive orders, executive action that can be taken,”

Biden said. He also said separate legislative action would be “required.”

“Vice President Biden would do well to read the 2nd Amendment and revisit the meaning of the phrase ‘shall not be infringed,’” Rep. Steve Scalise, R-La., said in a statement. “Bypassing Congress to implement radical policies is never acceptable.”

The White House and the NRA have found little common ground as the two groups craft separate responses to the tragedy.

The NRA, after staying silent for several days after the Connecticut school massacre, eventually called for a national school security plan to install armed officers at every school in the country.

The White House, though, has suggested that plan would not be effective.
But the NRA and other firearms group say the same about proposed restrictions on certain weapons types, noting that assault weapons are not often used in the commission of violent crimes — handguns are more common.

The Washington Post reported over the weekend that Obama was considering measures beyond reinstating a ban on assault weapons and high-capacity magazines. According to the paper, the task force was considering measures like universal background checks for gun buyers, a national gun database, strengthening mental health checks and tougher penalties for people carrying guns near schools or giving them to minors.

Gun-advocacy groups, including Arizona for Gun Safety, the Brady Campaign, the Campaign to Keep Guns off Campus and Mayors Against Illegal Guns, attended a meeting with Biden Wednesday.

Dan Gross, president of the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence, after the meeting affirmed that administration officials “talked about … their willingness to use executive action where that’s appropriate.”

Reporters Skip Past Gun Control at Obama Press Conference and Face Instant Criticism

Obama-gunPresident Obama, angry with reporters for not asking about gun control, pulled a piece on them.

Leave it to Obama to come out attacking the media for not sticking to the scripted press conference and daring to ask about Benghazi. JD

The harshest judges of those in news media are often others in the news media, and, with the benefit of Twitter, that intrajournalistic watchdog role can be performed simultaneously with the journalism being criticized.

Case in point was the White House news conference on Wednesday afternoon, when President Obama made a forceful announcement in response to the massacre of children last week in Newtown, Conn. He said he was directing Vice President Joseph R. Biden Jr. to lead an effort “to come up with a set of concrete proposals” about dealing with gun violence that he would submit to Congress no later than January.

“We are going to need to work on making access to mental health care as easy as access to a gun,” Mr. Obama said. “We’re going to need to look more closely at a culture that all too often glorifies guns and violence.”

His words, after five days of extensive news coverage and national debate, were intensely focused on gun violence. He addressed no other topics. Yet judging by the questions that followed his address, most of the members of the Washington press corps had other things on their minds.

“I’d like to ask you about the other serious issue consuming this town right now, the fiscal cliff,” was the first question, from The Associated Press’s correspondent, Ben Feller.

Mr. Obama answered. Then came the next question, again about the so-called “fiscal cliff”: “What is your next move?” Then: “You mentioned the $700,000, $800,000 — are you willing to move on income level?” And so on, for at least 15 minutes, before a question about gun violence was finally asked, by David Jackson of USA Today.

Media watchers on Twitter — mainly other members of the media and some whose job it is to watch it — quickly seized on the questions as a sign that the Washington press corps was out of step with the national agenda.

Biden Jokes about Secret Service Threatening to Shoot Florida’s Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commissioner

Vice President Joe Biden visited the Florida Everglades on Monday to promote the Everglades Restoration Project and joked about his Secret Service detail threatening to shoot the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation commissioner.

During his speech at Everglades National Park, Biden pointed out Commissioner Ronald Bergeron, who he said tried to convince him to visit the Everglades 10 years ago. Bergeron was appointed to the commission in 2007 by then Gov. Charlie Crist.

“He wanted me to wrestle alligators. You all think I’m kidding. I’m not kidding. He’s one crazy son-of-a-gun. Where are you Ronnie? There he is. And the worst part is, [Sen.] Bill [Nelson] introduced me to him. I wondered, Bill, why? He said, ‘No, he wants [you] just to do a little project with him. I thought the project was something about restoring the Everglades. It was about seeing whether or not I was really an athlete,” Biden said.

“But you see this man right here, my Secret Service guy? He played in pro-football, also was on that national championship team – the Clemson had. He said if I go, he’ll shoot you, Ronnie, so …I’m only kidding. That’s not true. He didn’t say he’d shoot Ronnie. He said he’d shoot the alligator if I went. I just think it’s incredible, and I still think you’re nuts, Ronnie,” Biden said.

The Everglades is made up of four million acres of interconnected wetlands – 1.5 million of which makes up the Everglades National Park. It is home to more than 60 endangered and threatened species.

The Everglades Restoration project is considered the largest environmental restoration project in the nation’s history at a cost of $13.5 billion paid for through a 50/50 state-federal partnership. The project covers 16 counties over an 18,000 square-mile area.

“The Everglades Restoration project passed back in 2000 because of the guys behind me and work started by the governor, but not one project encompassed in that entire … everglades preservation, restoration project had started until we came into office,” the vice president said.

“And since we’ve come to office, with the priority of the men behind me, we made a commitment investing almost $1.5 billion that’s already begun to have a profound economic impact on the state,” Biden added.

Dick Cheney remains in hospital after feeling ill

Liberals around America must be rejoicing at the prospect of Dick Cheney laying on his death bed. I read several liberal blogs this morning and the libs commenting are once again wishing death on Cheney, who is often vilified by the liberal media.

Can you imagine if the roles were reversed and it was the rightards wishing death on Joe Biden? I guess in order for Biden to suffer from these types of attacks he would actually have to demonstrate the ability to have an IQ higher than Forrest Gump.

Nonetheless, it will be interesting to watch the liberal media and the leftards bash Cheney when he dies. JD

WASHINGTON (AFP) – Former US vice president Dick Cheney, who has a long history of heart problems, was being observed in a Washington hospital Saturday after unspecified health complaints, his spokesman said.

Cheney, who checked into hospital Friday, is not expected to be discharged until next week, and his office has made no comment on his condition since he was admitted.

It was not immediately clear whether the latest hospitalization was related to heart troubles that saw the 69-year-old Republican hawk suffer his fifth heart attack in 32 years in February.

“Former vice president Cheney was not feeling well and was seen this afternoon by his doctors in their offices at George Washington University,” spokesman Peter Long said in a statement late Friday.

“On the advice of his physicians, he was admitted to the hospital for further testing. He is expected to remain in the hospital over the weekend.”
One of America’s most powerful and controversial vice presidents who served under

George W. Bush, Cheney is known as a key driving force behind the “war on terror” that included wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, warrantless wiretapping on US citizens, and use of torture on terror suspects.

Cheney became a hero to hawkish conservatives and a nemesis without equal for liberals and Democrats.

He has had a long list of health scares, including undergoing quadruple bypass surgery and two artery-clearing angioplasties. In 2001, he was fitted with a pacemaker.

Cheney has also twice been treated with electrical shocks for atrial fibrillation, an abnormal heart rhythm that places him at risk of a stroke if not treated, and in 2005 underwent surgery for an arterial aneurysm on the back of each of his knees.

Despite his persistent health problems, Cheney has remained on the political scene since leaving office, fiercely criticizing President Barack Obama, a Democrat.

He accused Obama of making the country less safe by repudiating Bush-era policies, and regularly took to the air to denounce the administration’s national security policy.
His sudden public prominence was in marked contrast to the extreme secrecy he was known for in office, when he was jokingly referred to by many — including then-senator Hillary Clinton — as Darth Vader.

He embraced the epithet, mocking himself in a 2004 interview.
“Am I the evil genius in the corner that nobody ever sees come out of his hole? It’s a nice way to operate, actually,” he quipped.

While Republicans, including Bush, acknowledged mistakes were made in the years after the September 11, 2001 attacks, Cheney never expressed doubt about his support for indefinite detention or even waterboarding — a form of torture that was used on terror suspects in US custody.

“I feel very good about what we did. I think it was the right thing to do. If I was faced with those circumstances again, I’d do exactly the same thing,” he told Fox News in 2008.
