Obama Cries for Newtown Children, Doesn’t Mention Chicago

While President Obama and Vice President Biden try to figure out how to prevent massacres like the one in Newtown Connecticut that claimed the lives of 26 children and adults, the slaughter that has been taking place in Chicago over the duration of Obama’s first term goes largely unnoticed and unmentioned by the White House.

In 2012, a total of 516 people were murdered in Chicago, most of which occurred in the city’s notoriously dangerous West and South Sides. Last year’s deadliest month was August, in which 57 people were murdered in the Windy City, many at the end of a gun barrel.

obama_cry_babyIn Afghanistan last year, 340 Americans were killed in combat and non-combat related incidents. When compared to the murder rate in Chicago, Afghanistan seems like a walk in the park.

But after four years of widely ignoring the massacre in Chicago, the American media have finally began to acknowledge what the rest of America has known for the duration of Obama’s first term. Chicago is a huge embarrassment for Obama.

Why is it an embarrassment to President Obama? Because the “gun control” he and Vice President Joe Biden are clamoring for nationally is already in place in Chicago.

Its hard to justify regulating the gun industry when your home town is already heavily regulated and also the murder capital of the country. It completely contradicts the purpose stated by the administration.

Gun control policies don’t work because they disarm citizens while keeping criminals in possession of guns. Chicago’s strict policies have effectively given lawbreakers a monopoly on weapons in many parts of the city that the Chicago Police Department cannot or will not police effectively.

Even NPR or National Public Radio acknowledges this. On Monday, Morning Edition explored crime rates in Chicago and how the murder rate went up in 2012. That was against national trends and even against Chicago’s long-range decline in crime. We discussed police focus on “hot spots,” and the dissolution of gangs. But listeners asked: What about gun bans?

Yet the media keeps sweeping it under the rug and putting their heads in the sand as to not anger the Messiah, er . . Obama.

You have a sitting president looking to confiscate firearms from law abiding citizens when his home town is under siege from criminals, who are the only people what guns because “gun control” has taken the guns away from law abiding citizens.

Embarrassing indeed. JD

Obama Wastes No Time Exploiting Children Killed In Newtown Connecticut To Attack Second Amendment

First of all, let me say that I am not a gun nut. I don’t collect firearms and have but a few firearms of my own, most holdovers from childhood.

The incident that took place yesterday in Newtown Connecticut was a horrible tragedy. A preventable tragedy, at least preventable from a perspective that had there been another person of sane mind with a firearm tragedy could have been avoided.

President Obama, being a president hell bent on taking away more freedoms of the average law abiding American citizen, used this horrible tragedy to seize the moment on gun control, completely dismissing the fact that the gunman, Adam Lanza, was an insane man with an axe to grind.

After all, what kind of person can go into a kindergarten classroom and kill five year old children?

But here yesterday Obama completely disregarded that fact and instead chose to attack the inanimate object, the firearm.

A gun is a door stop. Its a wheel chock for a person changing a flat tire on a slope.

I have not once in my life heard of a gun getting up out of a drawer, walking itself into an establishment and shooting people dead on its own.

Simply put, a firearm is the most efficient tool to dispatch a large number of people at one time. If there were a more efficient tool available, it would have been used instead of a gun.

Obama came out and faked a few tears, then immediately politicized the issue with the following statement. You need to read between the lines here because Obama uses fear and guilt on his political enemies in one simple paragraph off the teleprompter.

“As a country, we have been through this too many times. Whether it’s an elementary school in Newtown, or a shopping mall in Oregon, or a temple in Wisconsin, or a movie theater in Aurora, or a street corner in Chicago — these neighborhoods are our neighborhoods, and these children are our children. And we’re going to have to come together and take meaningful action to prevent more tragedies like this, regardless of the politics.”

First Obama says “As a country” trying to include all of us, even the people he has worked so hard to divide into camps for the last four years if you don’t include the 2008 campaign years.

This also makes it harder for gun rights advocates to argue against the coming legislation from Obama, which to politicize the issue even more will be titled “The Children of Newtown Connecticut Gun Act” to further exploit these children.

I said to some Twitter friends yesterday “Timothy McVeigh killed 168 people in Oklahoma and never fired a single shot.”

This drew a lot of attention to the fact that you can outlaw guns, but people will always find a way to kill people. Unfortunately killing has been going on since the beginning of time. First with bare hands, then with tools. Tools like clubs and spears, crude knives then swords, hot tar then catapults. cannons and guns. Missiles and nuclear bombs. All of these weapons are nothing more than tools with which we use to dispose of people.

Over the coming weeks and months, I expect to hear the attack on guns begin to resonate and become a loud shrill in our daily lives. Joy Behar and her band of idiots in “The View” will be out there daily blaming the inanimate object and not the lunatics that use them to commit these heinous crimes.

We can outlaw fertilizer and diesel fuel so that Oklahoma can never occur again. We can outlaw air travel so 9/11 can never happen again, but ultimately, we will have to outlaw the human being if we want to stop people from killing people. JD

Shelton Woman Victoria Hope bled to Death Delivering Stillborn Triplets

Reading the comments on this website, I had no idea that Victoria Hope was concealing her pregnancy. How can anyone not notice the weight gain of a woman carrying triplets? Are her parents the dumbest humans on earth? What the hell is going on up there in Connecticut? Geez.

SHELTON — Victoria Hope bled to death Tuesday while delivering three stillborn babies, according to autopsy results from the state’s Chief Medical Examiner’s Office, never picking up the phone to call for help.

Instead, it was Hope’s mother, Frances — who returned to their Redwood Circle home unaware of her daughter’s pregnancy — who grabbed the phone and called 911.

Victoria Hope, who was known as Tori, apparently told no one she was pregnant, police said Wednesday as friends and family continued to come to grips with the death of the 26-year-old and her triplet sons.

When officers arrived, they found her on her bedroom floor bleeding, Detective Sgt. Kevin Ahern said. While they were tending to her, officers found two of the babies on the bedroom floor and the third on the bathroom floor, he said, adding none could be revived.

Detective Ben Trabka said police believe even the children’s father didn’t know she was pregnant. “But we believe she knew she was pregnant.” They suspect that, he said, because she had made up a false medical condition to explain why she was gaining weight.

It wasn’t clear whether the woman knew she was carrying triplets before giving birth early Tuesday afternoon. Her father, William Hope, acknowledged Wednesday that his daughter was “big” and said he doesn’t know why she hid her pregnancy.

“That’s going to be the question we’ll never have an answer for,” he said.

Hope was the mother of two children, a 6-year-old son, Devin, and a 2-year-old daughter, Gabriella, with long-time boyfriend Ricky Miller Jr. He is assumed to be the father of the triplets, but only DNA testing can determine that, Trabka said.

Hope’s tragic death sent shock waves through her circle of friends.

“She was cool. I wasn’t like real great friends with her,” John Cude informed friends on his Facebook wall. “But when I (and) she hung out she was always super nice. I read the story (about her death). This is awful and unfortunate to the fullest.”

Her devotion to children was also evident in the community. In December, she showed up to speak out against budget cuts to the Shelton school system that would have resulted in teacher layoffs.

At the Wonder Years Learning Center in Shelton, which Devin attended until he started kindergarten two years ago, Hope is remembered as a “thoughtful,” “kind-hearted” and “involved mom.”

“When her son left our preschool to start kindergarten, she called to let us know she had gotten a lot of compliments on how well he was doing, how smart he was and how social,” Laura Lipinsky, co-owner of Wonder Years Learning Center, said. “Then she bought a pizza lunch for the whole staff and everybody. She thought we deserved some of the credit for how well her son was doing, and she appreciated us and that she wanted us to know that.”

Hope had recently been laid off from her job, Trabka said.

Her mother, Frances Hope, found her daughter and the newborn babies dead in their Redwood Circle home when she returned home around 1 p.m., he said.

Hope had been home all day, Trabka said, and her 2-year-old daughter also was in the house at the time of her mother’s death.

Frances Hope called police when she found her daughter, Trabka said, but emergency officials received no calls before that from Hope.

“There were no calls that came into the Police Department from the home before that,” he said, and police have not been able to find a record of her contacting anyone else that day.

The mother declined to comment on her daughter’s death Wednesday, only saying that the family is devastated.

She said funeral arrangements would be announced Thursday.
