   I know I'm gonna sound like an NRA nut (I most certainly am not), but this is why gun registration doesn't work. This idiot blows away a deputy who wasn't even there to arrest him – she was taking photos of footprints – and proceeds to shoot it out with SWAT using a shotgun. 2 demonstrations of his idiot status – he shoots a deputy who didn't approach him, and he shot at SWAT (using automatic rifles) with a shotgun. If you can give a gun to a moron like this, your registration won't work. Chicago has some of the toughest gun rules in the land, but we average 2 killings a day. I got interrogated like a mass murderer in order to buy a WW1-era bolt-action rifle for re-enacting (and never had live ammo for it, only blanks), but there's gang-bangers out there with AKs blazing away every day in the city. Let's hope Ohio takes this sad occurrence as an object lesson in how to, and how NOT to, control firearms.
