Oh yes, Ellen DeGeneres who is sucking the life out of the show, and Kara DioGuardi now announcing that she is leaving, what could possibly be next?

Will show producers dig up the rotting corpse of Liberace and Ethel Merman to get people to watch? JD

Songwriter Kara DioGuardi is stepping down from her role as a judge on American Idol, Fox announced in a press release last night.

“I felt like I won the lottery when I joined American Idol two years ago, but I feel like now is the best time to leave,” DioGuardi said in a statement.

“I am very proud to have been associated with Idol. All the best to everyone on Season 10!”

Idol executive producer Ken Warwick added: “It has been a joy working with [DioGuardi] on Idol for the past two seasons, and I’m looking forward to seeing what she does next.”

With Jennifer Lopez reportedly inking a deal to join the show, it’s a regular revolving door over there.
