Norma Lopez body may have been found

A body has been discovered in a remote area in Moreno Valley. Police have not disclosed the identity of the person, but it may be that of Norma Lopez, who disappeared last Thursday.

The body was found in a tall grassy area near a line of trees and was not hidden. No word yet on whether the body is that of abducted 17-year-old girl Norma Lopez.

An autopsy conducted Wednesday morning will reveal the sex of the body. Investigators could not conclude the sex on site because the body was too decomposed.

Norma Lopez was reported missing on July 15 at 12:30 p.m. by her older sister after not returning from summer school. Norma was released from her summer school course at about 10 a.m. that day and was supposed to meet here older sister and a friend.

Investigators found some of Norma’s belongings and what looked like signs of a struggle just two miles from where the body was found. Authorities are also looking for a driver and passenger of a newer-model green SUV that was seen in the area at the time of her disappearance.

The Sheriff’s Department has announced a $35,000 reward for any information leading up the Norma’s return or the arrest and conviction of anyone responsible for her abduction.

    Well for those of you that are so blinded by your own racism against white people, the fact remains that there are many people from all over the world that immigrate here illegally and then drop a few kids so they won't be deported. These children are called "Anchor Babies."

    Now, if you are trying to wage an argument that this does not exist, then I would invite you to Google the words "Anchor Babies" and get an education. JD

    I feel terrible for that little girl. What's up with her parents? They can't speak English so the other 2 daughters ( anchor babies) must speak for them. How can you possibly assist the authorities if you can't speak our language? This is very disturbing! Mark my word the killer ,if ever found will also be an illegal. It makes me sick to my stomach and not only because this young girl was brutalized but because the U.S. fails her citizens miserably by looking the other way as we are being invaded from the south criminals. I include Mr. and Mrs. Lopez as criminals. Arizona has it right (SB 1070). Send them all back!!!

      Norma was not an anchor baby. The Norma's parents may not speak perfect english ,it does not make them criminals. And no they are not illegals either. The other two daughters spoke for them because they were to distraught. I watched an interview and every time the daughter spoke , Mr. Lopez would agree. He understood everything she talked about at the press conference. He always thanked everyone for their help too. I feel sorry for you, if you don't have anything better to say then don't.
