Machete Trailer, an inside look at what Mexicans think of Americans

The movie “Machete” is openly racist and incredibly bigoted. The premise involves a Mexican that is hired to kill a U.S. senator. He is double crossed and seeks revenge on white people for what he considers injustices against Mexicans in America . . . or at least thats what the trailer would lead us to believe its about.

The movie shows a bunch of Mexicans armed with machetes hacking apart white people. The trailer opens with has been Danny Trejo saying “This is Machete, with a special Cinco de Mayo message for Arizona” almost implying that the people of Arizona can expect to be hacked to pieces if they don’t rescind their new law against illegal aliens.

There is another scene where Jessica Alba proclaims “We didn’t cross the border, the border crossed us.” This is clearly another attempt by writer/director Robert Rodriguez to blame illegal immigration on an event that happened 200 years ago.

We here at the BrokenCountry would expect nothing less from the Latino community. This film will prove to do nothing but incite and provoke Americans into taking more action against illegal immigration.

For Trejo and Rodriguez to openly threaten the people of Arizona, citizens of the United States, with acts of violence is reprehensible and should be considered an act of terrorism.

There are some that would argue the racist overtone of Machete. I can only say this. What if the a movie were made called “Go back to Mexico” where a bunch of white people were shown hacking Mexicans to pieces? Bob

Phil Pagano, Chicago director of Metra throws himself in front of train

He must have had something to hide . . .

Embattled Metra Executive Director Phil Pagano, under investigation by his own agency for financial issues, threw himself in front of a Metra train this morning and was killed, sources said.

It happened in an unincorporated area near Crystal Lake just after 8 a.m.

“It’s very sad day for Metra,” Metra board member Jack Schaffer said after emerging from a canceled meeting this morning that was to deal with Pagano’s job status.

Pagano, executive director of the commuter rail service since 1990, was put on paid administrative last week amid a probe that he paid himself an unauthorized $56,000 bonus. The probe expanded to look at “more serious allegations of official misconduct,” according to the attorney hired to conduct Metra’s inquiry.

On Thursday, U.S. Sen. Dick Durbin revealed he asked Calvin L. Scovel III, inspector general of the U.S. Transportation Department, to investigate whether federal funds were misused.

And the Cook County state’s attorney reportedly had decided to launch a criminal probe.

Metra released a statement this morning confirming Pagano’s death.

“It is with great sadness that we report the passing this morning of Philip A. Pagano,” according to the statement from Metra’s board of directors. “Phil served this agency with distinction for many years. Today, we shall remember the good work he achieved with our board of directors and the men and woman of Metra. He was dedicated to our passengers and he always considered the men and women of Metra his family and there is a tremendous sense of loss within the agency.

“We shall remember him as a dedicated husband, father and grandfather who loved his family more than anyone. Our deepest sympathies as well as our thoughts and prayers are with him, his family and all those who loved him.”

During an emergency meeting last week, the Metra board placed Pagano on paid leave and hired independent attorney James Sotos to conduct an internal investigation.

“The investigation will center on, but not be limited to, the alleged unauthorized money paid to Mr. Pagano and whether policies and procedures were violated,” Metra board chairman Carole Doris said last week.

Pagano had agreed to remain on leave until the investigation ends and will continue to collect his $269,625 salary, Metra spokeswoman Judy Pardonnet said.

His death Friday happened near at the tracks near Hillside Road, just west of Terra Cotta Road in McHenry County.

McHenry County Sheriff Keith Nygren has scheduled a 2 p.m. news conference to discuss the subject.

Woman painting fingernails while driving found guilty of Reckless Homocide

All she was doing was painting her fingernails? I see women out here in Los Angeles painting their fingernails while putting on makeup and talking on their cell phone and smacking the kids in the back seat and telling them to shut up because they can’t hear their sister who is on the other end of the cell phone trying to live out the daily drama of her life. All of this is done with one hand. The other had is busy flipping people off for honking at her for going 42 miles an hour in the fast lane while straddling lanes. JD

Though Lora Hunt insisted she wasn’t painting her fingernails when she hit and killed motorcyclist Anita Zaffke, a Lake County jury Thursday convicted her of reckless homicide in the 2009 crash.

The guilty verdict left the 48-year-old Hunt in tears and brought little comfort to Zaffke’s relatives, who were in the Waukegan courtroom.

“There’s no winners today, there’s no celebration or happiness,” Zaffke’s son, Greg Zaffke II, said outside the courtroom. “Two families will forever carry the hurt and anguish.”

But Zaffke — who wears black fingernail polish on his left hand to mark his mother’s death — said there is a crucial difference.

Hunt’s family will be temporarily separated from her if she is sent to prison for the felony offense, Zaffke said, while his 56-year-old mother is irretrievably gone.

“I will never see or talk to her again, never get a hug,” said Zaffke, 32. “I will likely spend more time of my life without my mother than I did with her.”

Hunt was charged after her Chevrolet Impala struck and killed Zaffke on May 2, 2009, as she stopped her motorcycle for a traffic signal at Route 12 and Old McHenry Road near Lake Zurich.

Lake County prosecutor Michael Mermel argued during the trial that Hunt was so distracted as she painted her fingernails that she never saw Zaffke stopped ahead of her.

The eight-woman, four-man jury deliberated for about 3½ hours on Thursday before convicting Hunt, a nurse from Morris who previously had a clean driving record.

Hunt, who has five children and eight grandchidren, faces a maximum five-year prison term, though she also could receive probation.

She remains free on $100,000 bond until her sentencing next month.

Her family declined to comment as they left the courtroom.

But her attorney said he thinks authorities filed the charge against Hunt in part because she told police after the crash she had been painting her nails as she drove.

“She is being made an example of,” lawyer Jeff Tomczak said of Hunt, adding: “I do believe the underlying act of painting fingernails was the impetus for the charge.”

He contended that other actions taken by drivers — including using a cell phone or tending to young children — are as dangerous, but don’t result in criminal charges after crashes.

Mermel said only that he was satisfied with the guilty verdict.

“The jury returned a proper verdict in this case,” Mermel said.

Mermel, though, repeatedly insisted during the trial that Hunt’s effort to do her nails while driving was so reckless it was criminal.

“She decided shiny nails for her are more important than life for Anita Zaffke,” Mermel told jurors before they began deliberating.

Tomczak said he will ask that Hunt be sentenced to probation, rather than ordered to prison — in part because she is so remorseful over causing the crash.

“If she could, she would give herself up for Anita Zaffke,” Tomczak said.

Texas School Suspends Student For Taking Down Mexican Flag

From Michael Berry on 740 KRTH Radio

Local School Suspends Student for Removing MEXICAN Flag

Yesterday, a listener’s son was offended that his school, Klein Collins High School, displayed the Mexican flag prominently. His mother called to complain, and the school wouldn’t return her call. The student took the sign down.

The school pitched a fit, reviewed the surveillance tapes, found the student, and suspended him for 3 days. AND he has to pay for the flag. In light of the SF story of students sent home for wearing the AMERICAN flag because it offended the Hispanic students, I thought you’d like to know about a story closer to home.

Right here in our community. Feel free to let the school know what you think. You pay their salaries.

Klein Collins High School (832) 484.5500. Assistant Principal handling the case: Mr. Shelly Dick. Seriously.

Call Mr. Dick and let him have it. The Superintendent is Jim Cain.

You realize, I assume, that if a student removed – or even burned – the AMERICAN flag, they wouldn’t do anything about it, I’ll bet.

American Flag Tee Shirts Start Firestorm at Live Oak High School

I have been reading a lot of articles about the controversy started at Live Oak High School in Morgan Hill California. The principal, Miguel Rodriguez, thought that he should send some kids home for daring to wear shirts and bandanas emblazoned with the dreaded American flag on Cinco de Mayo.

Principal Rodriguez dropped the ball here.He should have stopped being “Super Mexican” and let the kids wear the flag shirts. Doing things that attack American principles and beliefs is like pissing up a rope. I have been saying it here for years. If you want to piss off real Americans, walk around waving a Mexican flag and proclaiming the greatness of Mexico.

I say real American, because there are a lot of “Mexican Americans” here in California that show little or no loyalty to America. Some even have the audacity to fly Mexican flags over the state of California flag at their homes.

Reading stories about how some of the Hispanic kids at Live Oak and parents were “offended” by these kids and their attire is ridiculous. Offended?

So let me get this straight. Every time Latinos are pissed off for any reason, they protest and wave Mexican flags . . . and thats okay.

But let anyone show any loyalty to America, THE COUNTRY YOU LIVE IN, and your offended. Only in America.
