    This fat nigga was fucking other hoes and he should be put in jail. The school is in the hood and their were bunch of people that were low income. This nigga use to show his iphone and other gadgets to girls so that he can bribe them to sleep with his ugly ass. He always had some bitches that were on his nuts because he controlled them through fear. They should lock up his ass for at least ten years. Mr. Chaney and bunch of other students were right about his shady ass. FUCK THIS CHILD PREDATOR I HOPE HE GETS RAPED IN JAIL

    btw this isn't the first time something like this happens at MaST. the only difference is that the other teacher and student involved were much more discreet about their relationship. The teacher waited for her to graduate and they actually ended up getting married and are still happily married. of course, it helps that this teacher wasn't married and he was about 10 years younger than Fernandez is now, at that time, so the creep factor is significantly lessened.

    i was part of the basketball team but i never got an i phone or a car. and i only got a cheap ass motel not an aprtment. i didnt get a ring i just got a ring pop. fernandez was fat, shes not even that cute

    (Bottom line is they both knew their actions were wrong and it makes me sad to see a teacher who once had principles fall to what he is now.) I agree with what the former student said as well. I use to work there when there was a teacher by the name of Miss. Grahm she was not only fooling around with male students but females as well and you didn't hear that in the news did you, she just got transfered to another school or a cushy office jobs now thats bull

      yup!! i remember that too. funny thing is fernandez was one of the teachers trying to get her fired. i remember he asked me and several other students if they had seen anything. him and like 3 or 4 other teachers were trying to build a case about because on top of sexual relations with the students, she was promoting drug use.

    You can write a whole book on this sissue but the reality is that its NOT right! in my eyes hes a child predator… And should pay for what hes done.. Not one 17yr old girl knows how to run her own life and to have a grown A$$ man get into her head like that sickens ME!

      true, no 17 year-old knows how to properly run her life but at 17 you're old enough to know how to get what you want even if it's not the right decision to get whatever it is you want. she was either blind or shutting her eyes to get those neat gadgets and toys. i went to that school and i know very well the people that went there and some of the people that still attend there.
      What happened is not right but the girl is not a victim because a law says her age makes her one. she was aware. she knew what she was doing, even if it's based on her 17 year-old judgement. She saw A as way to get to B.
      They're both predators and they found each other.

    Many untold things happened at that school. The teachers, coordinators, any of the people that had authority just looked the other way when these things were happening. So for this coach to get caught and arrested really surprised me…He wasn't the first and perhaps the not the last teachers that will get involved with a student. So for every teacher, principal, coordinator, worker, etc…that saw something weird going… on shame on u!!! For those that turned their heads or warned them by just letting them leave with no justice just to protect the schools rep or urself…shame on u!

    OMG!!! He's also a basketball coach…he was my Chemistry Teacher…ans my sisters Economic n History Teacher…n I don't think he had credentials…to teach…If any the school is to blame!!! And eeeew he's ugly!! What was the girl thinking…was she ugly 2??? Eeew sick! I'm glad I left the school…

      You're welcome? i can't tell whether you're sincere or sarcastic but either way i do have a lot to say. It's a sad situation and people tend to land on either extreme of the spectrum. i just think people should see the situation for what it is and not for whatever their past experiences or influences make them see it as.

    I am in no way condoning this situation. I just feel that people should only be accused and judged for what they are responsible for – no more, no less. I think it was irresponsible both on Mr. Fernandez's behalf for NOT thinking about the pain and humiliation his family and the student's family would experience and on the student's behalf for NOT realizing or caring she was breaking up a family and humiliating her own. Bottom line is they both knew their actions were wrong and it makes me sad to see a teacher who once had principles fall to what he is now. It just shows the brokenness of humanity and how we need to find ourselves in God.

    The fact of the matter is everyone is gonna say something about how wrong the situation is and how disgusting it is, etc. Everyone can assume something about a person's character based on the inaccurate stories the media provides and how they paint the picture. For example, FOXnews said he was respected, well-liked, and popular with the kids. I went there for all 4 years of high school and he wasn't so much respected, well-liked and popular as he was hated. Usually the students who hated him did so because they didn't do well in his classes and he played favorites.
    More than any of the other adjectives used by worried parents i think the entire thing was completely and utterly IRRESPONSIBLE. Him and the student had both their families to think about and both acted selfishly without any concern for the consequences to come.

    The gifts he gave are proof this is a one time deal. No LAUSD teacher can afford everything he had for more than one person. Tiffany's ring (assuming it was a cheap one is at least 3k), iPhone about 400 bucks itself plus another 100 a month, renting an apartment in LA for them to meet assuming it was a Studio is about 800 a month, I didn't hear anything about a car but if there was one assuming it was inexpensive and fresh out the dealer is about 12k. The numbers alone make it impossible, when you consider the other bills he has to pay free from his young mistress's bills, for him to ever have had another affair like this. Besides when i was a student at USC MaST he was a different person than he is now. Everyone changes and we are all broken.

    When i was there for school he was very strict about the teacher-student relationship. Some students make a habit of hugging their favorite teacher to greet them but he wouldn't allow any of it. He always kept both doors of his classroom open and when it came to sports he would correct EVERYONE'S behavior if it was due. As much as he was disliked for the difficulty of his classes or simply for his personality, he was a very professional teacher who held his job with utmost importance. When i saw him at the game i attended he was a completely different person and i heard him say something i never thought i'd even dream to hear him say, "I'm just not into coaching anymore. I'm tired and I wanna retire this year."

    Another point to make clear is that the girl was NOT a victim. She was a willing participant whether the law says she has the authority to consent or not, she still has a will and a mind of her own. As an alumni I thought I'd go back and watch a girl's basketball game. The whole time i was there i felt i was going to explode because him and the student were making their ties so obvious. She would display disrespect for fellow team members and would get too close for comfort with Mr. Fernandez. He wouldn't stop her from having her fits or correct her behavior at all.

    What makes you think that this is an isolated incident? Ever once in a while, some jerk needs to get caught to reMIND us we're slaking OFF! If, for one second, you have the gall to think that your teenaged kids aren't having sex (even with teachers) broken country will not beGIN to describe this great nation's state. The truth is, you must trust no one with YOUR precious job. Education begins at HOME. Educate and inform your child of the perils that could befall ANY citizen of the world; not just the USA. Your kids don't want to tell you what's REALLY going on in American schools. They know if they DID you would be too shocked to let them out the door. Ask ANY policeman, social worker, free clinic doctor or anyone who works with teenagers daily. Our COMPLACENCY has made coach Cesar Fernandez possible. I can't stand reading comments, like Surprised Parent and Parent (SERiously?), that do NOthing but point fingers to set themselves apart from jerks like the accused coach. Be humble enough to recognize how we contribute to incidents like this when we don't arm our children with information. They need to be able to go out into the world with an armor that helps them make well informed choices that repel the Cesar Fernandez's of the world.

    What is so shocking is that teachers suspected something was going on…..students knew that this individual was giving her gifts and yet LAUSD did not suspend, reprimand or remove this sick individual from that school.

      People need to NOT be afraid to speak up when they see this kind of thing. If society supported people when they speak up, then this kind of crime would not exist. Now people do not want to get involved, because of lawyers and the way anyone can sue for any reason, frivolous or not. When a person can get money for spilling hot coffee on themselves from the company that made the coffee "too" hot, that is BS and just a blaming someone else for there stupidity.
