Chelsea King Murder Suspect Investigated for Disappearance of Amber Dubois

SAN DIEGO — The convicted sex offender charged in San Diego with killing Chelsea King is under investigation in last year’s disappearance of a 14-year-old girl and an Chelsea King Amber Dubois killer john albert Gardnerattack on another teen.

Escondido police say they’re investigating whether John Albert Gardner III is responsible for the disappearance of Amber Dubois, who vanished while walking to school last year.

In Riverside County, sheriff’s Capt. Joseph Cleary says there are similarities between Gardner and the description of a man who tried to force a 16-year-old into his car last October in Lake Elsinore — where Gardner now lives. The girl got away.

On Wednesday, Gardner pleaded not guilty to killing King, who was 17. Authorities believe a body found in a lakeside grave this week is hers.
