Devon Miller, Beaumont Cheerleader dies of Cardiac Arrest

This is not a good story. How do parents live past this kind of emotional torture? We all walk through life and take our children for granted. I can’t imagine how hard it would be to let my girls go. JD

A 14-year-old cheerleader at Beaumont High School died Wednesday morning, after apparently suffering cardiac arrest.

School officials said Devon Christine Miller’s death may be related to an undisclosed medical illness.

The ninth-grader “took part in numerous campus sports” as well as other extracurricular programs, according to a bulletin on the Beaumont Unified School District website.

Grief counselors were sent to Beaumont High to meet with students and teachers impacted by the girl’s death.

    Devon i feel sorry for u to die at a young age i wonder how your family can get through this eevery year that passes i honesly knew you were important to demi and i have a clue how she feels im just praying each and every day that you rest in peace watching over your friends and family take care of your family and when they are ready show them the path i miss you very much i hoped that i would get to meet you in person but sadly i couldnt. rest in peace sweetie. we ALL ,miss you here in BEAUMONT it was a horrific death. sorry stay safe and always by gods side watching over all of beaumont!

    devon i only knew you from cheer but every day i am reminded of ur presence around me im not going to say who i am because the only people that need to know who i am r me and you and im sure u can see me typing away from heaven but u were a beautiful extraordinary girl and even though i waa on freshmen squad and u were on jv and we didnt talk that much u were a great person and i could tell you were just by watching the little things you do i love you and miss you every now and then but we will be reunited in heaven someday i love you devon…

    When she passed away, I was COMPLETELY shocked. I mean, it is HIGHLY unlikely for a teenage girl in BEAUMONT to pass away. You cannot believe how devastated and guilty i feel for the loss. Devastated, because how can such a beautiful, caring, funny, young lady like devon just pass away/ its unreal. And guilty, because i coukdnt do anything to stop it. i will donate all the money out of my piggy bank for you devon, and noone will forget how awesome you are………….. R.I.P Devon Miller.

    Devon was so much more than a cheerleader. She was one of the greatest spirits at BHS. She was in band and ASB. She ALWAYS had a smile on her face and lived her life to the fullest. It will never be the same without her. We love you and miss you so much, Devon. Fly with angels, Precious Girl.

    I've know Devon for 9 years and its going to be so hard growing up with out her.

    wow devon. gone to soon. we all miss you. i kno u and anthony were bomb diggity besties he misses u a lot! the schools really missin u. we had a dance dedicated to u here at mountain view. i didnt talk to u much but i remember u when u were w/ anthony. theres a memorial for u down at noble creek. and trust me. EVERYONE knos ur gone cuz we all miss u. even coach newell was talkin about u yesterday. i feel really bad for ur boyfriend but ur in a better place now. say hi to god for me!

    We were best friends. Devon Miller went to 3 Rings Ranch Elementary School with me! All I can say is I will miss her soooo very much and that she rests in peace! i love you devon!
