Bernie Madoff takes a beating in prison

It just doesn’t get any better than this. Bernie Madoff gets his ass kicked in prison. Gee, I can’t imagine why a bunch of white collar criminals would want to give old Bernie a beating, can you? JD
DURHAM, NC — Sources tell ABC11 Eyewitness News that disgraced financier Bernie Madoff is being treated for serious injuries consistent with an assault.
He is serving a life sentence at the federal prison in Butner after admitting to cheating investors out of billions of dollars.
According to the sources, Madoff came to Duke with facial fractures, broken ribs and a collapsed lung.
Prison officials won’t confirm that. They say the 71-year-old is now in the medical clinic at the prison in Butner.
According a report by the Associated Press, Madoff’s lawyer – Ira Sorkin – contradicts the assault story, saying his client “had some dizzy spells and some high blood pressure.”
The report also quoted a prison official as saying Madoff was not assaulted. He has been under medical care for seven days.
The AP reported Duke University Medical Center earlier said Madoff had been treated there, but later a spokeswoman said the hospital had never had a patient by that name.

I certainly am not trying to defend Madoff, he should have gotten life. You seem to be supporting convicted criminals committing a violent act. You apparently have no respect for the rule of law.
Oh my, RA. Let's do this. I can arrange for you to spend a week (I will pay all your transportation expenses) first in a prison in Bangkok, Thailand, then another fun-filled week in a prison in La Paz, Bolivia, then finally a grand finale week in the Detroit City Jail. I will then pay for your paper and pen expenses to write your treatise on "The Rule of Law as Experienced in Three Prisons."
Let me get this straight. You also think it's OK for convicted criminals to commit violent acts against people, as long as you don't like them? Is that right?
Just because prisons in other countries are worse than prisons here doesn't change the fact that JD and, now you, seem to be supporting a violent act committed by convicted criminals.
Your logic is just as ridiculous as usual. Basically what you are saying is that you support a criminal act because it would be worse in another country. You never fail to amaze me. The law is the law. It is against the law to beat someone. You apparently approve, which in my opinion, makes you almost as bad as the criminal. I simply find it incredible that you are defending a criminal act. I thought you conservative types where all about the rule of law. Oh, I guess you are when you find it fits your side of the argument.

I did not say I supported any of what you stated above, just that it is/was/will be reality. I didn't say that prisons in other countries were worse than in the U.S., I just offered to give you an all expense-paid vacation to determine for yourself. Wanna go? See for yourself instead of whining away on your keyboard? It would be a good lesson in reality, something you may benefit from that you don't have any reference point on at the moment.
This guy deserved to get his ass kicked, but it should have been by his constituents whose lives he destroyed by costing them millions in losses and in some cases their entire life savings. Some of these people will never be able to recover financially or emotionally. This man, if you can call him that, is a real piece of shit.
He and his familiy committed these crimes out of pure greed and nothing more.
I don't condone the violence in prison, but I'll bet you a dollar to doughnuts, that the folks who lost a lot of money with him wish he got more than a little ass kicking!
