I would never defend the actions of Tiger Woods. I think that his behavior over what appears to be the duration of his marriage is reprehensible. He married, and it appears to me that it was what some have called an “Public Image Marriage” meaning, he only married Elin to give his public persona a more stable appearance. This would help to make his endorsement deals that much more lucrative.

Tiger Woods was in this game for the sole purpose money and the fame that comes with being the greatest golfer the game has ever seen. But I’ve been thinking about this. We see this sort of self destructive behavior all the time out here in Hollywood, and I am willing to bet that the circumstances in sports are similar to the circumstances in every other industry where people are perceived to be more than human and bigger than life.

The problem with fame and fortune is that there is no one that is willing to say the word “no” to you. You see it all the time on the tabloid shows like VH1’s “Behind the Music.” Agents and record companies are so desperate to make a buck that they wont say no to even the most ridiculous requests from their clients. Friends, family and the public, so desperate for the opportunity to be a part of the circus, will do anything for these people.

Tiger Woods is no exception to this. He walks into a club, women throw themselves at him because they are hoping to hit the lotto of life like the gold diggers that they are. Agents and handlers warn Tiger of the danger, but Tiger tells them that they will be fired if they ever mention it again. I would bet money that it was one of the reasons Tiger Woods fired his longtime caddy Mike Cowan, because after Cowan left, Tiger’s golf game went to shit for quite some time.

This is a huge problem for Tiger Inc. and all that Tiger represents. Tiger is surrounded by yes men and yes women to the extent that he spiraled out of control and they were allowed to do or say anything to stop him. Its no wonder the guy has sleeping issues, and they are probably directly related to the amazing guilt he feels for betraying his father. So he goes out and bangs every woman he sees and all the while people around him are a nervous wreck, knowing that one day this will become public knowledge and the Hindenburg will crash into the Titanic.

That day has now come to pass. Tiger Woods’ agents are floating these stories about “Tiger being on the brink” and “Taking an indefinite leave of absence from golf.” Its all bull shit. Tiger is probably still the ego-maniacal lunatic that he has been for years. I would bet money that right now he is high on sleeping pills and has two hookers in bed with him.

Because more important to Tiger than his wife and kids is his fame and fortune. Tiger is no different than anyone else caught up in the fame and fortune tornado. Everywhere Tiger goes people are asking for his autograph and taking pictures of him. Everyone wants to be near him because he is Tiger Woods. After a while this can become a very powerful drug.

I believe that his wife has every right to divorce Tiger and fleece him for every penny he is worth. He deserves it. Not just for deceiving his wife and kids, but for deceiving the public. Tiger Woods entire existence as a a pro golfer should now be called into question. Tiger allowed, probably even orchestrated a scam on the entire population of the free world. He made people believe that he was something that he is not. An honorable man. JD
