  • Oprah’s Heroes. What a disgrace these three people have turned out to be.

    • I must admit that I have been a bit lazy when it comes to goofing on Oprah Winfrey. I think it might be a good idea to simply make an Oprah category here on brokencountry and dedicate it to simply ripping Ms. Winfrey a new backside once in a while.

    I think from the start of the Obama campaign, Oprah made it quite clear that she is a bigot. I watched a few of her shows during the campaign and watched some youtube clips of her endorsement of then candidate Barack Obama. During the entire campaign all she said about Obama was that he was “inspiring.” I also saw some interviews by actual reporters that asked Oprah why she supported Barack Obama and she never once said anything other than “because he is so inspirational.”

    What the media elite were getting at is what is plain and obvious to the rest of America. They wanted to hear Oprah say that she supports Obama because he is black. This really is the only reason that Oprah supported President Obama and donated 2.5 million dollars (a pittance when you are worth 2.5 billion) to the Obama for Presidential campaign.

    The best thing about Oprah is that she’s an idiot. So are all the Oprahtrons that watch that mindless drivel she calls a show. She took Phil Donahue’s format and is laughing all the way to the bank. She is worth 2.5 billion dollars and trust me when I say this. She is doing everything she can to avoid paying taxes. I would bet my left nut that if you were to dig deep into the 1000 page plus Obama stimulus plan you would find a section that provides 100 million dollars to build Oprah her own wing at the white house.

    The upside of the whole Oprah phenomenon is that like the rest of these dopey talk show hosts, she too will eventually become irrelevant. In fact if you look at her ratings she is already on the verge of being irrelevant. Her support of Barack Obama for what were clearly bigoted reasons has cost her in the form of ratings. What used to be 15 million viewers is now down to less than 8 million viewers. I figure another three years and we will all be asking Oprah who? JD

    Beverly Eckert, Sept. 11 Widow, Died in Fiery Buffalo Flight 3407 Crash

    Again an airliner has gone down in New York but this time there was no happy ending. All 49 souls on board Continental Air flight 3407 and one person on thee ground were killed. Beverly Eckert, whose husband died in the Sept. 11 attacks, was aboard the fatal flight. According to the Buffalo News, Eckert, who lived in Connecticut, was heading to upstate New York to celebrate with family what would have been the 58th birthday of her late husband and high school sweetheart, Sean Rooney.

    Just minutes before the crash, air traffic controllers had a routine conversation with the female pilot, who reportedly had had 3,300 hours of flying time with the airline. Then suddenly she was out of contact. Witnesses said the plane took a nose dive, which kept it from skidding through the neighborhood.

    Shortly before the crash, a pilot on the Continental Connection flight can be heard talking to an air traffic controller in Buffalo, according to a recording captured by the website liveATC. The Associated Press reported that neither the controller nor the pilot expressed concern that anything was wrong, as the airplane was asked to fly at 2,300 feet.

For trying to completely portray yourself as some sort of victim in your own little fantasy world whereby you think you are Angelina Jolie, you win the illustrious award of Douchebag of the week. Suleman is a sick human being and she and Kate Gosselin should both be publicly flogged and put in the laughing stock for a few weeks for good measure. Nadya Suleman, You are a douchebag.

    This week its a no brainer as to who will be the Douchebag of the week. Bristol Palin wins hands down. No one else even came close to her. Comments like “having a child is not “glamorous,” and that telling young people to be abstinent is “not realistic at all.”

    And “everyone should just wait 10 years to have a baby, rather than when you’re young.”

    And lets not forget “It’s just, like, I’m not living for myself anymore. It’s, like, for another person, so it’s different,” Bristol Palin told Fox News’ Greta Van Susteren. “And just you’re up all night. And it’s not glamorous at all,” she said. “Like, your whole priorities change after having a baby.”

    What an idiot. Message to Governor Palin. Go back and find out who Bristol’s english teachers were from Kindergarten through her senior year of high school and fire them all. I have never heard a person massacre the english language like Bristol Palin does. It’s embarrassing. God help us if Bristol Palin runss for elected office. JD

    Well this week Douchebag of the Week was a tossup between Barack Obama and Judd Gregg until the Rabbi Joaquin Phoenix paid a visit to the David Letterman Show.

    Barack Obama was considered because of his campaign to scare Americans and threaten Congress into passing his “stimulus” package into law. I have nothing against a real stimulus package, but President Obama’s stimulus package does NOTHING for the average American. It does however reward all of the unions that helped to get him elected. This is the reason that most polls show that Americans don’t want the stimulus package passed in it current form. It is also why the Obama administration has kept the text of the bill under wraps until it can be passed. So much for transparency in government.

    Judd Gregg was nominated for DOTW because he was stupid enough to think that the Obama Administration would let him have a say in the policies of the Obama Administration. He was asked to be the Secretary of Commerce to be a puppet and the token republican and nothing more. If I were living in New Hampshire I would be asking if Mr. Gregg is even qualified to be a senator at this point. What an Idiot.

    But then came Joaquin Phoenix on the David Letterman Show. Anyone that saw the interview knows just why I elected Mr. Phoenix the Douchebag of the Week. What a douchebag. Joaquin Phoenix sat there and contributed NOTHING to the show until the point where it became so ridiculous that the audience and the viewer had no choice but to laugh at how stupid he was. Phoenix was dressed in a black suit and tie and with that ridiculous beard he looked like an orthodox Jewish Rabbi. It was the funniest and the saddest thing I have seen on TV in years.
