Illegal immigrant carrying drugs fatally shot

I like to make sure that people never forget the devastating affect that illegal immigration is having on America and the American people. Here is where all of the drugs are coming from, and this little blurb in yesterdays paper proves it. ILLEGAL ALIENS carry cocaine into this country in backpacks. What a novel concept. JD
TUCSON, Ariz. A suspected drug smuggler has died at a Tucson hospital after being shot during an apparent robbery in a desert area.
The Pima County sheriff’s office determines the victim was shot Friday night while walking through the desert with about a dozen other illegal immigrants _ all transporting drugs in backpacks.
The shooting, it says, occurred during a robbery.
The wounded man and a friend made it to a roadway, when deputies say they flagged down a vehicle and were driven to Kino hospital in Tucson.

Gangs Seeing Online Hits

A crackdown on gangs across the country and in Nashville has revealed an interesting trend. It appears street gangs are going online. The practive is called “netbanging.”
Street gangs are getting Web-savvy, and investigators are hot on their online trail.
Gang members set up homepages, blogs and profiles and use them for everything from recruiting new members to boasting about crimes.
And that’s made them useful to investigators.
“We know that some here locally have Web sites,” said Police detective Dwayne Greene with the Metro Police Gang Unit.
Greene is part of Metro Police’s gang unit.
And lately that means, not only cruising the streets, but also surfing the Web.
“We just try to monitor and see what kind of activities and events they’re having. And stay up on those kind of things,” Greene said.
Cops across the country have found clues in online diaries and chat-room conversations. Sometimes, they even find pictures of the perpetrators.
“It is evolving. We see learning how to do types dances, handshakes, buying paraphernalia. It is increasing,” Greene said.
Green said gangs in Nashville are not as organized as in other cities, and their Web sites may not be as sophisticated.
But an online presence means gangs can reach beyond their neighborhoods to anyone who’s interested.
“You can learn to be a gang member just like you can learn to lay tile off of the Internet,” Greene said.
