Illegal immigrant population estimated at 12 million

What a load. The illegal alien population here in Los Angeles is 12 million. That’s how it should read. The wage base in the construction industry has been decimated here. Jobs that once paid 25 dollars an hour pay eight! Who are they trying to kid here? THE TAX PAYER!!!!

WASHINGTON The number of illegal immigrants in the United States has grown to as high as 12 (M) million.
That’s according to a new estimate released today as the U-S Senate considers legislation aimed at tightening America’s borders.

The Pew Hispanic Center report estimates undocumented workers fill one out of every four agricultural jobs. They also hold an estimated 17 percent of all office and house cleaning positions, 14 percent of construction jobs, and 12 percent of those who work in food preparation.

The report found that the pace of illegal immigration is increasing, despite government efforts to crack down.

The center says Mexicans who make it to the United States illegally are staying longer, perhaps because it’s getting harder and more expensive to move back and forth across the border.

A meeting of a gang called the Crips in East Nashville led to the arrest of nearly a dozen people.

Metro Police called it the largest bust involving gang-related crime in the city’s history.

Police charged eleven people with mostly drug and weapon offenses.

Police responded Saturday when a citizen told them about some unusual activity at an apartment.

The suspicious activity allowed police to seize nine guns, plus small amounts of marijuana, crack and powder cocaine.

A tip came to police from a worried citizen who told them something strange was happening in apartment J9 at the Berkshire Place Apartments on Porter Road.

    Police set up surveillance.

“They recognized several known gang members, gang members known to them entering certain apartments,” said Mitch Fuhrer with Metro Police.

The gathering turned out to be a meeting of the Rollin’ 60’s Crips gang.

“It’s a gang and it comes from, originates in California from the 60th Street, and they have sets all over the country. And this is our local subset of the Rollin’ 60s Crips,” Fuhrer said.

When the get-together ended, more than two dozen people left the apartment. Police said they saw weapons and moved in.

“What happened when the officers came in, they just threw everything,” Fuhrer said.

After questioning more than two dozen people, police charged eleven of them including these nine adults who were charged with mostly weapon and drug offenses. Police said all of them are members of the Rollin’ 60’s Crips.

“Also, I’m sure we’ve taken these guns off the street and disrupted a meeting. And there are several crimes that we were able to prevent from happening that night,” Fuhrer said.

Police believe the Rollin’ 60s Crips is one of the largest but least-organized gangs in Nashville.

The Rollin’ 60s Crips hang out primarily in the Bordeaux area, even though Saturday’s bust happened on the east side of town.

The gang’s colors are light blue.
