Republican shit

republican shit

In a complaint to the Federal Elections Commission, the
National Republican Campaign Committee accused radio
station KFI-AM (640) co-hosts John Kobylt and Ken
Chiampou of “criminal behavior” for attacking Rep. David
Dreier, R-Glendora, and endorsing his Democratic
opponent, Cynthia Matthews.

What an interesting accusation. I happen to be in on this
one as it is literally happening in my own back yard.
David Dreier is my representitave in congress. I have a
“Fire Dreier” poster in my front yard and I listen to John
and Ken. So what is all of the hub bub?

I seem to remember when KFI and John and Ken were a
big player in booting that worthless ex-governer of ours,
Grey Davis, out of office in favor of the governator,
Arnold. I guess it is okay with the Republican party
when it works in their favor to have a big radio station
in their corner but, holy cow it is a crime if it is not in
their best interest eh?

“In that this will be my last column before the presidential election,
there will be no sarcasm, no attempts at witty repartee. The topic is too
serious, and the stakes are too high.
This November we will vote in the only election during our lifetime that
will truly matter. Because America is at a once-in-a-generation
crossroads, more than an election hangs in the balance. Down one path lies
retreat, abdication and a reign of ambivalence. Down the other lies a
nation that is aware of its past and accepts the daunting obligation its
future demands.
If we choose poorly, the consequences will echo through the next 50 years
of history. If we, in a spasm of frustration, turn out the current
occupant of the White House, the message to the world and ourselves will be
two-fold.
First, we will reject the notion that America can do big things.
Once a nation that tamed a frontier, stood down the Nazis and stood upon
the moon, we will announce to the world that bringing democracy to the
Middle East is too big of a task for us. But more significantly, we will
signal to future presidents that as voters, we are unwilling to tackle
difficult challenges, preferring caution to boldness, embracing the
mediocrity that has characterized other civilizations. The defeat of
President Bush will send a chilling message to future presidents who may
need to make difficult, yet unpopular decisions. America has always been a
nation that rises to the demands of history regardless of the costs or
appeal. If we turn away from that legacy, we turn away from who we are.>
Second, we inform every terrorist organization on the globe that the
lesson of Somalia was well learned. In Somalia we showed terrorists that
you don’t need to defeat America on the battlefield when you can defeat
them in the newsroom. They learned that a wounded America can become a
defeated America.
Twenty-four-hour news stations and daily tracing polls will do the heavy
lifting, turning a cut into a fatal blow. Except that Iraq is Somalia
times 10. The election of John Kerry will serve notice to every terrorist
in every cave that the soft underbelly of American power is the timidity of
American voters. Terrorists will know that a steady stream of grizzly
photos for CNN is all you need to break the will of the American people.
Our own self-doubt will take it from there. Bin Laden will recognize that
he can topple any American administration without setting foot on the
homeland.
It is said that America’s W.W.II generation is its ‘greatest generation’.
But my greatest fear is that it will become known as America’s ‘last
generation.’ Born in the bleakness of the Great Depression and hardened in
the fire of WW II, they may be the last American generation that
understands the meaning of duty, honor and sacrifice. It is difficult to
admit, but I know these terms are spoken with only hollow detachment by
many (but not all) in my generation. Too many citizens today mistake
‘living in America’ as ‘being an American.’ But America has always been
more of an idea than a place. When you sign on, you do more than buy real
estate. You accept a set of values and responsibilities.
This November, my generation, which has been absent too long, must grasp
the obligation that comes with being an American, or fade into the oblivion
they may deserve.
I believe that 100 years from now historians will look back at the
election of 2004 and see it as the decisive election of our century.
Depending on the outcome, they will describe it as the moment America
joined the ranks of ordinary nations; or they will describe it as the
moment the prodigal sons and daughters of the greatest generation accepted
their burden as caretakers of the City on the Hill.”

Republican against Dreier

For those of you that don’t know, David Dreier has become the focus
of attention this election cycle by a local radio talk show that has
decided to ‘‘sacrifice” his political career for a lack of action regarding
illegal immigration. He has done nothing for the 26th district for far too
long.

Although I vote at every election, I have become very politically active
this year by creating a Web site on the Internet to help remove David
Dreier once and for all. Dreier does not represent the people of the 26th
District. Dreier only represents David Dreier and his corporate buddies,
most of whom are outside of his district.

Take a look at his list of campaign contributors. Most are big casinos
and big banks, some of which don’t even do business within the 26th
District.

I want everyone reading these words right now to try to think of one
thing that Congressman Dreier has done for this district in the last 10
years. We get on the freeways and sit trapped in traffic while money
that can be used to improve the transportation system is instead
used to subsidize cheap labor for big business in the form of illegal
immigrants. We watch helplessly as the health care system is so
overburdened with uninsured, many that are illegally here in the first
place, that they are forced to close their doors. Congressman Dreier
has not done anything about illegal immigration until the harsh
spotlight was placed on his reprehensible record on the issue.

I am a Republican that has voted against David Dreier for the last five
elections because I follow this man’s voting record almost daily. I am
supporting Cynthia Matthews for Congress. For more information

PHOENIX – A stolen truck filled with suspected illegal immigrants and speeding away from deputies rolled over at a busy intersection near an Army post Saturday, causing an 11-car crash that killed six people and seriously injured 15, sheriff’s officials said.

Passengers were thrown out of the truck bed as the truck hit a center median and began to spiral, hitting vehicles waiting at a turn lane, said Deputy Chief Randy Redmond of the Sierra Vista Fire Department. Investigators think the truck was traveling at about 90 mph when it lost control near Fort Huachuca in southeastern Arizona, he said.

A letter written to Larry Elder

Whether this is true or not, it’s pretty funny. This letter was written
to Larry Elder (radio talk show host) and posted on the townhall web site.

Dear Larry,

Last Thursday, I put out one of my Bush/Cheney signs in my front
yard. Between midnight and 3:00 a.m. someone stole it. On Friday night,
I put out sign No. 2. Since I didn’t have to get up early, I thought my
dog and I would “stake out” our sign. This time I put the sign a little
closer to the gate leading to my back yard. With my dog on an extra
long leash, I planted myself on a lawn chair and read “Unfit for
Command” by flashlight until about 1:00 a.m.

Here comes the fun part … I noticed that the car coming down the
street was slowing down and pulling over to the curb right next to my
yard. Sure enough, he gets out of his car and heads right for my sign.
Just as he was about to uproot and desecrate it, I opened my gate and
let my dog make the initial introduction!

As he ran to hide behind the rear end of his car, I promptly moved
to the driver side door, which was still open. It was a fairly nice car
with power everything and still running. While my dog continued to
“introduce” herself, I rolled up the window and hit the power door lock
button. With that, I slammed the door, grabbed my Bush sign and headed
into the back yard.

And now for the “rest of the story.” About 40 minutes later, I
heard a knock at the door. I opened the door to one of our city’s
finest … the Vancouver Police Department. The officer asked me what
was going on and when I told him, he could not stop laughing!

I followed him out to the perp’s car and stood there while he asked
the guy a few more questions. Upon learning that the guy lived a couple
of streets down, I – knowing what was about to happen – asked him, “Why
do you have Oregon plates on your car if you live just down the street
(here in Vancouver, Wash.)?”

Larry, Oregon has no sales tax, so often Washington residents will
buy and register cars in Oregon to avoid paying sales tax … it’s a
crime and the fine is pretty stiff. Here comes the best part … The
look on this guy’s face told me he knew he was about to get busted.
When the officer asked for his license and registration, the “Democrat”
mumbled that (his license) was suspended.

Just for kicks and giggles, I asked the officer if he smelled any
alcohol coming from the guy! The officer looked at me, smiled and
promptly gave him a field breathalyzer test. Guess what? You got it –
he blew a .10, legally drunk in the state of Washington.

DUI, illegal registration, suspended license and the brand of “MORON”,
all because he hates Bush! Typical Democrat mentality!

Sincerely,

John E. Maxwell jr.
Vancouver, Wash.

Presidential debate in MO

I am happy to say that I think President Bush hit several home
runs tonight. There is no doubt in my mind that the President
won this debate by a landslide. Although Senator Kerry had good
talking points, they are all things that our current administration
is already doing. S. Kerry spoke of training the Iraqi peace keeping
force more quickly but training takes time as any military personnel
or soldier can tell you. Sending ill trained people into active duty is a
potential disaster, especially when a country’s fate hangs in the balance.
Pres. Bush also, finally, started to bring S. Kerry’s poor voting record
in the Senate into play which is something he should have done in the
last debate. S. Kerry really has no defense against his own record and
really spun a few good ones out there that only made him look less
credible in my eyes. I think the environmental question also hurt S. Kerry
bringing global warming and Kyoto treaty into play. The Kyoto treaty
would have been a disaster for the United Stated and EVERYONE knows
it. S. Kerry, admitting that he is a lawyer in this forum actually said that
he and John Edwards (another trial lawyer) will support tort reform! What
an incredible JOKE! Finally, I was very amused by, and thought that the
President hit a Grand Slam by asking the moderator, Charles Gibson
if he needed some wood after discovering that he owned a timber company.
It was S. Kerry that informed the President and the Nation that Pres. Bush
owned this phantom timber company. What a hoot!
Summing up the debate by this observer can only have one possible
outcome… Pres. Bush very handily won this debate. I would give
Pres. Bush a solid A on this report card and I would give S. Kerry a
solid C. I believe the people of the United States with the exception
of the Bush haters should have also scored the debate in roughly
the same way.
